Fenerbahce too strong for Kuban
Fenerbahce extended their undefeated start to the Top 16 in Euroleague by handing Lokomotiv Kuban a first defeat.
Fenerbahce produced a stirring final-quarter comeback to beat Lokomotiv Kuban on Thursday and maintain their unbeaten record in Euroleague's Top 16.
Kuban visited Ulker Sports Arena having also won their first two matches in Group E and looked to be on course for victory when they opened up a nine-point advantage, thanks largely to a dominant second quarter.
However, Fener rallied impressively - with Bogdan Bogdanovic (18), Jan Vesley (17), Luigi Datome (16) and Bobby Dixon (13) combining for the bulk of their points and the latter nailing six out of six from the free-throw line.
Victor Claver was outstanding for Kuban as he shot a game-high 21 points, but his efforts proved in vain.
It was under the rim that Fenerbahce proved the better team, shooting 52.5 per cent of two pointers as Kuban managed to convert just 40 per cent of similar opportunities.
In the round's early tip-off, CSKA Moscow got the better of Barcelona, winning 93-82 in a high-scoring affair.
Barcelona won a huge first quarter 29-28, but were outdone 26-17 and 22-13 in the second and third respectively before showing some resolve as the game neared its conclusion.
Cory Higgins helped CSKA to victory with 20 points.
Elsewhere, Unicaja Malaga posted the day's most convincing scoreline, as they accounted for Cedevtia Zagreb 90-67.
Mindaugas Kuzminskas was the stand-out for the home side with 17 points and five rebounds.
In Greece, Crvena Zvedza Telekom got the better of Panathinaikos 74-63.
