Plenty of interesting clashes in Europe this weekend, including the derby of Italy, Real Madrid facing Sevilla, PSG taking on Lille, Dortmund in need of a win at Breman and Ajax taking on PSV in Holland. As ever we break down the talking points in our European weekend preview.  As ever all of these matches are available to watch on the beIN CONNECT service. 

The match of the weekend on the continent will be Juventus taking on top of the table Inter Milan in the derby of Italy on Saturday evening. Juventus are fresh from sealing their place in the last 16 of the Champions League, and will be targeting back to back wins in the league against title rivals following last weekend’s 1-0 win away at Napoli.

 As for Inter Milan, they do not have any European commitments and will be fresh for the match at J stadium. Luciano Spalletti’s side is the only side in the league yet to be defeated and will be looking for a result to ensure that they stay at the top of the league.  

Real Madrid will be looking to get back to winning ways in the league when Sevilla head to the Santiago Bernabéu on Saturday. Los Blancos will be without Captain Sergio Ramos who saw red last time out against Athletic Bilbao. As for Sevilla, they have struggled recently on the road, only registering one win in their last five away games. 

PSG have lost two games for the first time in three years following back-to-back defeats to Strasbourg and Bayern Munich. Despite suffering their first league defeat of the season the Parisians have a nine-point lead at the top of the standings and will be aiming to get back to winning ways against a Lille side who recently parted with Argentinian coach Marcelo Bielsa. 

In Germany, Borussia Dortmund head to a struggling Werder Breman side in desperate need of a win. Peter Bosz’s side has not won in seven league games and has dropped to sixth in the league, after initially setting the pace in the Bundesliga. They face a Breman side who registered a narrow 1-0 win over Stuttgart last time out, and confidence will be high with Werder.

Sunday evening will see top of the table PSV Eindhoven take on rivals Ajax. Eindhoven has comfortably been the best side in Holland this season and has only lost once in fourteen occasions in the league. They take on an Ajax side who are ten points behind them in the standings.
