Bonny reunited with Chivu as Inter beat Stuttgart to €25m forward
Cristian Chivu has moved for his former Parma forward Ange-Yoan Bonny, as he prepares for his first season in charge of Inter.
Inter have beaten Stuttgart to the signing of Ange-Yoan Bonny from Parma, with the 21-year-old forward being reunited with former boss Cristian Chivu.
Bonny enjoyed a breakout campaign at the Stadio Ennio Tardini in 2024-25, the final three months of which saw him play under now-Inter boss Chivu.
The attacker scored six goals and registered four assists as Parma, who were in the relegation zone when Chivu took charge in February, secured survival on the final matchday.
Chivu was appointed as Simone Inzaghi's successor at Inter after the Italian left for Al-Hilal last month, and the former Nerazzurri defender immediately targeted a reunion with Bonny.
Stuttgart reportedly attempted to hijack Inter's move for the France Under-21 international, but an estimated fee of €25m was enough to bring him to San Siro.
Bonny told Inter TV: "Chivu gave me a lot in my last three months at Parma. He's a great person who has helped me and shown faith in me.
"I'm happy to be playing under him again and to continue our development together.
"I'm hungry and have a lot of desire to improve on last season so that I can keep developing. I want to learn from these great players that I'll have around me every day."
Champions League runners-up Inter, who suffered a disappointing last-16 exit against Fluminense at the Club World Cup, open their 2024-25 Serie A campaign away at Torino on August 25.
