Choupo-Moting signs for New York Red Bulls after leaving Bayern Munich
Eric Choupo-Moting was released by Bayern Munich after his contract expired earlier this year, and has joined the MLS Cup runners-up.
MLS Cup runners-up New York Red Bulls have announced the signing of former Bayern Munich forward Eric Choupo-Moting.
The 35-year-old had been without a club since he was released from Bayern at the end of the 2023-24 season in Germany.
Choupo-Moting comes with an impressive record, having won five league titles in the last six years with both Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern.
His most profitable season at either club was 2022-23, in which he netted 17 goals in all competitions for Bayern, while he has also represented Cameroon at two World Cups.
Choupo-Moting joins the Red Bulls on a two-year contract as a Designated Player, and will be aiming to help his side go one better in the 2025 season.
New York made it all the way to the 2024 MLS Cup final, despite scraping into the playoffs after finishing seventh in the Eastern Conference, but were beaten by LA Galaxy.
