Bosz lauds 'special' Saibari after hat-trick heroics against Feyenoord
Ismael Saibari netted a brilliant hat-trick to help PSV go joint top in the Eredivisie on Sunday with a dramatic win over Feyenoord.
PSV boss Peter Bosz hailed Ismael Saibari 'special' performance after the Moroccan international fired a brilliant hat-trick in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Feyenoord on Sunday.
Saibari opened the scoring at De Kuip on the half-hour mark, finishing deftly with the outside of his boot off Mauro Junior's set-up.
After Luciano Valente drew the hosts level early in the second half, Saibari quickly restored PSV's lead, combining smartly with Guus Til before blasting into the top corner.
He completed his hat-trick on the hour mark in audacious style, lobbing Feyenoord goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther from the edge of the area.
Although Feyenoord responded through Valente and Oussama Targhalline, Saibari's splendid performance was enough for PSV to claim all three points and move level with Feyenoord at the top of the Eredivisie on 25 points.
"Ismael is a special person and a special player. It's wonderful to work with him," Bosz said in his post-match press conference.
"He has always been in scoring positions, that's a great quality of his. Now he combines that with a high output.
"He's very sociable, sometimes even too sociable. If he needs to rest, he still goes to see friends, for example. Out of kindness."
Saibari now leads PSV's scoring charts with six league goals this season, having found the net with all three of his shots on target in the victory.
Bosz also added that he believes Saibari would do very well in a strong competition like the Premier League.
"If you analyse him, he has a certain physique that you need in England," Bosz continued.
"A player like Florian Wirtz, for example, is struggling at Liverpool right now, and that could be partly due to his physique. Although I do think he'll succeed."
The PSV boss was careful not to lavish too much praise on one player, though, emphasising that his team's recent success has been built on collective effort.
"I think it's dangerous to single out Ismael just because he scores. I could name more," he added.
"[Jerdy] Schouten, who helps with the ball, but also plays defensively against Ueda. This was truly a collective performance."
Bosz also praised the intensity of the atmosphere at De Kuip, acknowledging the challenge of playing there and the effect it can have on both teams.
"I think here at De Kuip, we're 3-1 up, and it was pretty quiet, but then the whole stadium got behind us," he said.
"That does something to you as a footballer. I even get goosebumps when I'm on the sidelines when that happens. They really help the team get back on track."
