Lando Norris Topped the Test in Bahrain During the Formula 1 Pre-Season, and There Was a Surprise From Ferrari
The British driver managed to take the morning session in the Bahrain pre-season tests, and Ferrari also surprised with a new modification
McLaren at the top of the morning
McLaren's British driver Lando Norris topped the grid with the fastest time on the second day of pre-season testing in Bahrain, ahead of Dutchman Max Verstappen's Red Bull and fellow Briton George Russell's Mercedes.
Lando Norris, meanwhile, clocked a time of 1:33.453 on soft tires, the best time so far in the tests, although he stalled in a mock start when he overloaded the turbo. Verstappen and his Red Bull have positioned themselves just a tenth of a second behind the Englishman with the soft tires
The Ferraris
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari was six seconds behind Lando Norris on a day when the Italian team only completed five laps and tried out adjustments to its car after Leclerc set the fastest time in the morning yesterday.
Surprise in Bahrain
The surprise of the day came from the Englishman's Ferrari, which showed a change in its spoiler that, while running in the middle of the circuit, began to rotate on itself to reduce drag and increase speed on the straight. At the moment, it is the only team to show this type of modification, but it is raising many questions among the teams and the audience.
The big question that arose about this modification is how effective it is, and if it is, the other teams will incorporate it or stick with what they have already achieved in the previous stages of development, at least for this start of the Formula 1 season
