Juventus future 'in my agent's hands', says McKennie
The future of Juventus and USA midfielder Weston McKennie is uncertain, with his existing contract in Turin set to expire next June.
Weston McKennie has acknowledged his desire to stay at Juventus but conceded his future is in his agent's hands.
The United States international's existing contract with the Bianconeri is set to expire in June, having initially joined the club on loan from Schalke in 2020.
McKennie has been a regular fixture for Juve this season, starting 11 games in Serie A since the appointment of Luciano Spalletti at the end of October.
During that time, the midfielder has found the net against Bodo/Glimt and Pafos in the Champions League, while providing assists against Napoli and Roma in Serie A.
McKennie will hope to play a key role when the United States co-host next year's World Cup, but his club future remains uncertain.
"I hope to stay at Juventus. But I leave it all in my agent’s hands," he said. "Turin is a huge part of my life, so I want to do everything I can for the people here.
"It was a difficult time before, but now we've rediscovered our identity [under Spalletti]. The coach knows how to play football and how to train players.
"He pays attention to the little things, the things that not everyone normally pays much attention to.
"He also talks to the players individually; he's a good coach, even in terms of his relationship with each player."
McKennie recently made his 200th appearance for Juventus, and he spoke of his pride at reaching that landmark.
"It was a huge moment for me, for my family, and for the people in America," he added. "For everyone, but especially for me, I'm very happy to have reached this milestone.
"It's difficult to be here and make 200 appearances, but I did it, and hopefully there will be another hundred."
