'Keep going, Erling!' – Gvardiol thrilled by Haaland's goalscoring exploits
Erling Haaland reached another stellar landmark, largely in part due to his goalscoring, during Manchester City's 3-0 win over West Ham.
Josko Gvardiol urged Erling Haaland to "keep going" on his scoring run after the striker netted a brace in Manchester City's 3-0 win over West Ham.
Haaland netted in each half, as well as setting up Tijjani Reijnders' first-half strike, taking him past 200 goal involvements in Europe's top five leagues (201).
He has reached that landmark in 165 games across his time with Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City, hitting it quicker than Kylian Mbappe (194) and Lionel Messi (195).
But even by Haaland's standards, he has been particularly prolific in front of goal this term, taking his tally up to 19 for the season on Saturday.
It is the joint-most by a player in a campaign before Christmas, along with Andrew Cole (1993-94), Kevin Phillips (1999-00) and Luis Suarez (2013-14).
Haaland is also just the third Premier League player to reach at least 10 goals in the competition in under 10 games against two opponents (West Ham and Wolves), after Alan Shearer and Sergio Aguero.
Asked if there was anything more he could say about Haaland's goalscoring prowess, Gvardiol told City's media channels: "Good question, eh?! All I can say is that I'm happy for him.
"I wish him just to keep going. For him, I think it's never enough. Obviously, he wants to score at least five goals every game.
"We are here to support him; we are more than happy to have him in the team.
"Good player, as a friend as well. So, I wish him all the best and keep going, Erling!"
Haaland has now scored the opening goal in 10 different league games this season; it is the joint-most by a City player in a single campaign in the competition, along with Aguero in 2014-15.
It is also the 14th time the Norwegian has recorded at least three goal involvements in a Premier League game.
Haaland has now scored 38 goals for club and country in 2025-26, while he has taken his overall Premier League tally to 104, moving him above Cristiano Ronaldo (103) in the all-time list.
