'I have never seen a player like him' – Mastantuono revels in Bellingham return
Rather than worrying about losing his place in the Real Madrid side to Jude Bellingham, Franco Mastantuono is excited to see his impact.
Real Madrid youngster Franco Mastantuono stated that he has "never seen a player" like Jude Bellingham amid the midfielder's return from injury.
Bellingham played 20 minutes in Madrid's 4-1 win over Levante on Tuesday, marking his second appearance of the season after recovering from a shoulder injury.
Los Blancos have won their first six matches of their LaLiga campaign, doing so for the sixth time in their history, while it was also a special night for Mastantuono.
The Argentina international became the second-youngest player to score for Madrid in LaLiga in the 21st century (18 years and 40 days), after Endrick's strike against Real Valladolid in August 2024 (18y, 35d).
Mastantuono has started in each of Madrid's last five games in all competitions, but his minutes could be reduced going forward as Bellingham is slowly introduced back into the side by Xabi Alonso.
When asked about his competition for a starting position against Bellingham, Mastantuono responded: "If we can play with twelve, all the better!
"Amazing player! Bellingham is amazing, amazing. A player who impressed me, a great person and a unique footballer.
"Honestly, I say that I have never seen a player like him: a lot of hierarchy, presence on the field. Hopefully, he can play as soon as possible, because he's going to help us a lot."
And when asked which team-mate has caught his attention the most, Mastantuono replied: "Bellingham, Bellingham.
"That's why I just said: it has a presence and a hierarchy that I have never seen before. His calmness and grit make him a different player."
